Forfeit vs On the Line

Both put consequences behind a goal. The difference is how review delays, fees, and settlement are made visible.

Short answer: Forfeit is available now and has an established user base. On the Line is a forthcoming iPhone app built around fixed proof criteria, a user-favoring moderation deadline, and a line-by-line Glass Receipt for every outcome.

Why people search for a Forfeit alternative

In our July 2026 review research, two complaints stood out: slow moderation and frustration after a shift toward subscription pricing. One reviewer reported a review taking more than two days. Another said the subscription left friend messages as the only consequence when they wanted a real forfeit.

Those are individual reviewer accounts, not independently verified findings. They still set a useful product standard: publish the review deadline, make a missed deadline favor the user, and show where every dollar went.

On the Line’s answer

The rules are fixed before a commitment starts. Proof is reviewed against those rules. If the review window is missed, the user is not punished for the platform’s delay. At settlement, the Glass Receipt itemizes the result.

On the Line’s fees are separate service charges. A small base fee applies at commit on every commitment. A small success fee applies only after success. On failure, no success fee is charged and the full stake goes to the chosen charity.

A clear limitation

On the Line does not yet have Forfeit’s operating history. This comparison describes the product standard being built, not a claim of longer real-world performance. We will update availability and final fee amounts when they are locked.
